KOGA's Well Positioned with Kentucky General Assembly

The 2015 Session of the Kentucky General Assembly is nearing its end. They’ve wrapped up the “regular” days of the Session and will return at the end of the month to consider vetoes and any lingering bills.

Overall, it is hard to characterize this Session. Certain high profile pieces of legislation were successfully passed. Others were not. The winter weather wreaked havoc on the schedule and, like always, there were significant disagreements between the Democratic controlled House and Republican-led Senate.


2014 Oil and Gas Production figures: Berea Sandstone propels Lawrence County to The #1 Oil-Producing County in Kentucky

Industry Sees Growth in Production value & Severance Revenues

FRANKFORT – The Kentucky Oil and Gas Association (“KOGA”) released the 2014 oil and gas production figures today. For the year, the total production value for oil and gas in Kentucky was $719,801,799 -- an eight percent increase over 2013.  Oil and gas severance revenues totaled $32,381,698, exceeding 2013 severance revenues by $2,453,758.

Kentucky oil production totaled 3,376,507 barrels, an increase of 483,894 barrels over 2013.  A significant contributing factor to the increase in oil production was the production growth in Lawrence County, where production increased by 309,262 barrels last year. In 2014, Lawrence County became the number one oil producing county in Kentucky.  Read More.....

KOGA Comments on UIC Primacy Application

In September 2014, on behalf of its membership, KOGA submitted comments to the Kentucky Division of Oil and Gas regarding its UIC Primacy Application.

KOGA received a response from Kimberly Collings, Director of Kentucky's Division of Oil and Gas addressing some of the concerns of KOGA.  Read More....

KOGA Eastern KY Technical Program & Dinner

KOGA's Eastern KY Meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 21st at Jenny Wiley State Park.  We have had a great turnout the past several years!

We are finalizing the program and will announce speakers soon, but you can go ahead and register for the meeting now!
